Happy Libertarian New Year 2022 – or how libertarianism helped me learn to rejoice during New Year celebrations like all normal people

Oh how I used to hate this time of year, actually this last day of it. Sometimes to the point that my buried in deep thoughts solemn attendance would anger my friends, who normally demanded waves of joy, laughter, jokes, and weirdness during the New Year's celebration from all participants.

How can any man or woman who's experienced tragedy of war relax and rejoice at New Year celebrations, the time when when such person's mind is led to reflect back on painful memories of abruptly broken and lost way of life and unfulfilled dreams for the future, to say the least? How can one look forward to a great new year when his life experience cautions him that everything he builds can one day collapse like a house of cards. So such traumatized mind keeps low expectations preventively just in case things eventually turn sour again.

Evening of December 31, 1999, Ala Moana Beach Park, full of people full of energy in anticipation of the countdown of the New Year 2000, the New Century and the New Millennium. While my friends take to the disco beats of the best DJs in the world - who came to Honolulu, Hawaii specially for the occasion, as the last place in the world to await the new year - I grumble how people can celebrate the coming of the new century when the past 100 years have produced so much negativity, war, and suffering, and that there is nothing left but for one to be deeply concerned at the thought of what horrors await the human race in the next century. Fun guy to around at parties, I know!

As the world rushes forward looking into the future, many people who have experienced war are doomed to live in the past, consumed by thoughts of what life was, what it could, and should have been. Unless they manage to break out of that trauma in some way.

Struck of midnight on December 31, 2009/January 1, 2010, I am launching Freedom and Prosperity platform, a libertarian project – arose as a result from the mental healing acquired through the Ron Paul Revolution - which helped me break out of misery and find a self fulfilling lifelong purpose in improving life in human society through education about freedom, which over time has helped me dispel anxiety and bring joy and optimism in anticipation of new year.

Today, my heart is doubly filled on this day of celebration, both with the arrival of the new year in celebration with family, and with the anniversary of the project that has over the years rewarded me with libertarian acquaintances and friendships around the world. This is a very special time for me, when I reflect with great pleasure how far libertarianism has come in the world and around the region, and when I dream of great things that libertarians will do in the future to make the more peaceful, freer, and more prosperous world. As the world descends ever further into the COVID Tyranny of the present times, spreading freedom ideas is needed more than ever. Let's keep up our noble fight! Happy Libertarian New Year 2022!
